My cat meows a lot and more than me, my father hates it. But I don’t want my cat to leave because she is cute. So how do I handle this situation ? Well, I just goggled for the result and here are some of the solutions.
- Ignore when she meows: Stop responding when she meows or better just leave the room and ignore her. Give attention to her when she is quite. This way, cats learn that they get more importance when they are quiet.
- Don’t give her food when she meows: Ofcourse your cat must be hungry and is meowing to get food. But by giving food you’re just making her habit worse. She will meow more the next time she is hungry. So it is better to give her food when she does not meow, again a lesson for her to be quiet 🙂
- She must be lonely or in stress: Cat becomes more vocal in stress, maybe due to change in environment, old age or heat. Give her attention accordignly. For a lonely cat, you can get a partner cat or get some toys for her to play, like a small doll or a small ball.
